Service for a Girl Becoming a Senior

A girl who is 15 years old is a Senior. She is entitled to wear a white lanyard. A service presentation is often part of the Affiliation Service or held at a time in the year when the majority of the group reached 15 years of ate.

Leader Tonight we are gathered to honour those girls who, having reached the age of 15, are now ready to assume additional responsibilities as Senior members of our group.
President If is a good thing to be thankful -- to praise God the Creator;
To begin the day with love and kindness
And to be faithful until evening;
To raise the voice of our hearts in song;
To rejoice in the work of God's hand. (Source unknown)
Hymn of Praise "Praise to the Lord! the Almighty" or

CGIT Group O God, we thank You that from Jesus we learn Your way of love for all the world. Help us to "see You more clearly, love You more dearly and follow You more nearly."
Leader Jesus said: "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind and with all your strength. Love your neighbour as you love yourself."
CGIT Group O God, we thank You for these commands. Help us to understand them and to find joy in obeying them as we continue together in study, in worship, in group activities and in using our lives to help others.
All We offer our prayers of thankfulness in the name and spirit of Jesus Christ. May we make Him Lord of our lives. Amen.
President Tonight we look back upon the past-particularly our experiences in CGIT. We are thankful for the opportunities which have been ours; and for the patience of all who have taught and guided us.

We are thankful for our friends; for experiences with them which have helped us to grow in body and mind. We are thankful for the successes and failures, the joys and the disappointments, which have challenged our spirits. All these have led to this moment. Some of our members will take on the privileges and responsibilities given to those who wear the white o lanyard with their uniform -- the Seniors.

Leader Tonight we wish to honour these Seniors. We are proud of them and grateful for their loyalty to CGIT through their Intermediate years.
